Data Deletion Instructions

How to request deletion of your Barangay COTS information, including data received through Facebook Login.

Last updated:

1. Send a deletion request

Email barangaycots@gmail.com with the subject Barangay COTS Data Deletion Request. You do not need to be signed in to view these instructions or send a request.

Where possible, send the request from the email address linked to your Barangay COTS account. If you cannot access that email, or your account uses only a phone number, provide an email address at which the team can contact you to arrange account verification.

  1. Provide your account name and the email address or phone number used for Barangay COTS.
  2. State whether you signed in with Facebook, Google, phone verification, or email and password.
  3. Specify whether you want to delete your entire account, remove Facebook-linked information, or delete particular information. Include the business name or application ID if it helps identify the affected records.
Keep your credentials private. Do not include your password, one-time verification codes, or a copy of your ID in the initial email. If additional identity verification is necessary, the team will explain what is required.

2. What happens next

Deletion requests are handled manually by the Barangay COTS support team in coordination with the responsible barangay office where necessary. This page does not automatically delete data or create a request until you send the email.

The team will verify your connection to the account, review the scope of the request and any record-retention requirements, and respond with the outcome or any further information needed. You can request a status update by replying to the same email thread. Any information retained and the reason for retaining it should be explained in the response.

3. Information covered by your request

Your request can cover account contact details, the Facebook identifier and name/email received through Facebook Login, other sign-in associations, submitted ID and face images, and business information or uploaded photos associated with your account.

Deleting an entire account may prevent further sign-in and access to its applications. Removing only a Facebook sign-in association affects that sign-in method; the team will need to clarify how you will access any account that remains.

4. Official records and retained copies

Some application, permit, review, transaction, security, or visit records may need to be retained for an applicable legal, administrative, or other lawful purpose. Deleting an online account does not automatically cancel an issued permit or erase official barangay records. Requests concerning those records will be reviewed with the responsible office.

Where records or backup copies remain subject to retention, the response should identify the relevant information and explain the applicable reason and handling of those copies. You may ask about deletion or restriction of information that is no longer necessary. Read the Privacy Policy's retention section for more context.

5. Remove the Facebook connection

You may also remove BarangayCOTS from Facebook's Apps and websites settings to revoke its connection to your Facebook account.

Removing the Facebook connection is separate from deleting data already stored by Barangay COTS. Send the email request above if you want the team to review and delete that information. These instructions do not delete your Facebook account.

6. Questions or follow-up

Email barangaycots@gmail.com for help locating your account, clarifying a request, or following up on its status. See our Privacy Policy for the information collected and how it is used.
